Since 2008 recognized as a climatic health resort with an excellent climate: Since 2008, the bioclimatic reports of the German Weather Service have confirmed that the last one was in 2020, the good air and the excellent climate in the climatic health resort of Kelberg. The municipality of Kelberg has 2,200 inhabitants and an area of 24.62 km², 11.9 km² of which is forest. With Kelberg, it includes the other districts of Hünerbach, Köttelbach, Rothenbach-Meisental and Zermüllen. Endless forest areas with many different hiking trails and cycle paths offer cool variety even in summer. Especially the Hochkelberg, a former volcanic crater, impresses in autumn with its brightly colored mountain top. At 674 m, it is one of the highest mountains in the Vulkaneifel.
