On the ecological village path Gönnersdorf the hiker can learn interesting facts about the history of the village and its landscape. On seven panels, which are to be hiked in the village and the surrounding area, the influences of the old land use forms on the diversity of the flora and fauna are explained. The panels provide information on the nature and history of Gönnersdorf as well as on wild bees, iron ore (once the basis of a flourishing industry), meadows (strategy against fertilizer shortage and long winters), abandoned limestone quarry (center of a remarkable community), water and a typical beech tree as a witness of the change of use.
