The Dr. Ax Foundation promotes art and culture by maintaining its art gallery on the Hasenberghof in Kronenburg (Eifel). The donor himself chose the extraordinary domicile of the pictures. The foundation buys paintings by artists from the Düsseldorf School of Painting and publishes them in scientifically developed exhibition catalogs. The exhibitions are shown in the art cabinet and are temporarily loaned to selected cultural institutions and museums. Because the collection should not only work scientifically, but also convey art enjoyment at a high level to a broad audience.

The foundation was founded in 1997 by Dr. Hans Günther Axe. The foundation supports needy victims of violent crimes, grants financial aid to hospitals for the purchase of medical devices and instruments, promotes art and culture, makes grants that are intended for research and teaching at German universities, is dedicated to elderly care and promotes animal welfare. These diverse tasks are a living expression of the diverse interests and goals that were important to the founder and to which he dedicated his fortune for the common good. The Dr. Axe Foundation shows changing current exhibitions in its art gallery on the Hasenberghof in Kronenburg Admission.

The guided tours are free of charge, separate registration is not required.
