The new photo spot at the Ulmener Maar tunnel offers a great photo opportunity of the Ulmener Maar. The frame showcases the Ulmener Castle, the Ulmener Church, the coat of arms, and the Ulmener Maar.
The photo spot is located in front of the Maar at the end of the Ulmener Maar tunnel.

Accessibility note:
The Ulmener Maar tunnel is partially accessible and free to enter. However, at its narrowest point, it is only 70 cm wide.

Tip:
Embark on a digital journey through Ulmen with the Ulmener Explorer Tour. All you need is a smartphone: Along the 3.7-kilometer tour, blue signs with QR codes point to 24 "pickpoints" – here you can experience Ulmen interactively! Behind the QR codes are short videos that breathe new life into old stories. The protagonists also blur the lines between reality and fiction. What does the Ulmener court jester or Knight Heinrich have to report about the castle? What does Harry the diving duck share about the flora and fauna of the Jungferweiher, and what does the water spout have to say?

The stories allow both young and old to dive into the past and present of Ulmen. The audiovisual experience leads to the Ulmener Maar, the Jungferweiher, and through the new Maar tunnel. Finally, at the Ulmener Castle, there is a digital quiz aimed especially at children. Those who answer all the questions correctly can look forward to a special memory from Ulmen.

Joining the tour is possible everywhere. The entire tour, including walking time and pickpoints, takes about 2.5 hours. You can also split the tour and continue at a later time.

Discover Ulmen barrier-free

The entire circular route around the Jungferweiher is barrier-free. In addition, some "pickpoints" are also designed to be partially accessible, so the content can be experienced in simple language or with sign language translation.
