Hasenacker [37]
Nideggen
Amidst extensive meadows and bizarre rock formations
On the Hasenacker hiking trail with the number [37], you will find a landscape full of contrasts over 11 kilometers. On one side, you can admire the ancient, rugged rocky landscape with its bizarre shapes and lush meadows. On the other, you can stroll along leisurely country lanes and mountain paths reminiscent of the Alps. Extensive meadows and fields allow you to take a deep breath and forget the confines of the city.
You hike comfortably down into the Rur valley and then climb back up through mixed forests. Finally, the Rur valley lies spectacularly at your feet as soon as you reach the Kühlenbusch viewpoint. Enjoy the fantastic view here before you finally start your way back at the famous red sandstone rocks of the Rur Eifel. They are around 220 million years old and offer you a walk through the colorful history of the Eifel.
We also always recommend a short detour to one of the surrounding towns with half-timbered houses, such as Nideggen. Here you will also find delicious delicacies at one of the many innkeepers.
