Ortsgemeinde WelschenbachThe history of the community of Welschenbach and its around 50 residents is shaped by its proximity to Virneburg Castle. The idyllic place surrounded by meadows and forests is divided into the districts of Oberwelschenbach and Niederwelschenbach. The two baroque chapels are worth seeing, one each in Oberwelschenbach and one in Niederwelschenbach.
Ortsgemeinde EttringenEttringen's townscape is characterized by volcanic rock, which was mined here especially during the industrialization period in the last century. The landmark of the village with more than 2,720 inhabitants is the Hochsimmerturm. But also the volcanic park stations "Ettringer Lay" and "Ettringer Bellerberg" are known beyond the region and offer fascinating insights into the history of the region.
Ortsgemeinde HaustenPicturesquely located in the upper Nettetal, the municipality of Hausten is framed at an altitude of about 420 m by meadows and mixed forests. The pure residential community is home to about 380 inhabitants and is located on the northern district border of the district of Mayen-Koblenz to the district of Ahrweiler. Particularly worth seeing in the district of Morswiesen is the baroque St. Anna chapel as well as the idyllically located pond.
Ortsgemeinde KirchwaldThe 960-soul community of Kirchwald is located on a ridge between the Nette and Nitz valleys. From the Nettetal, a winding road winds directly behind Bürresheim Castle at an altitude of around 500 m. Worth seeing is the lookout point "Nitzblick" as a special highlight on the "Panorama Wanderweg" as well as the "Stop-o-Mat" as a measuring station for cyclists.
Ortsgemeinde MünkThe idyllic, wooded local community of Münk used to be a purely agricultural community and today has around 260 inhabitants in the midst of unspoilt nature. The district is tangent to the two brooks Mimbach and Eschbach. The striking center of the town is undisputedly the small chapel built in 1758 in honor of St. Hubertus.
Ortsgemeinde LindThe local community Lind with about 50 inhabitants is located in the western part of the association community Vordereifel at an altitude of 470 m above sea level, in close proximity to the districts of Vulkaneifel and Ahrweiler. The Josefskapelle, located in the center of the village, was built in 1858 on the ruins of an older chapel.
