The former collegiate church of St. Martinus and St. Severus in the historic town of Münstermaifeld (church tour with a special focus on the Virgin Mary [Marian month of May)

The church, a "monument of national cultural importance", was built around 700 years ago in the Rhenish transitional Romanesque/Gothic style, with interruptions, over a period of 97 years.

The most important external and internal elements of the building are presented during the church tour. The tour focuses in particular on Mary, the Mother of God. Her veneration in the Marian month of May has a centuries-old tradition. All depictions and references to her in the church in the form of pictures or sculptures will be looked at and explained in terms of (art) history.

After the tour, participants will stop off at a local café.

Duration: 60-90 minutes, followed by a stop for refreshments

Cost: 15 euros (1 piece of cake and 1 hot drink are included in the price)
