Experience point No. 5 of the hike "Witches, Executioners & Rogues" leads you to a site of dark history – the gallows – around kilometer 4.

At the top of the plateau of Jakobsberg, nearly 550 meters above sea level, there is an unobstructed view over the region. This viewpoint used to serve as a highly visible location for the court gallows, which was clearly visible as a warning to all. Nevertheless, some were not deterred, and many a criminal took one last look into the distance here before meeting their fate.

From here, the hike "Witches, Executioners & Rogues" continues downhill towards the next historical site, the third place of shame.
