Zuwege - Rundtour um den Bahnhof Engeln

The circular tour around Engeln station offers wonderful views of the Eifel landscape, characterized by forests and fields, and can be wonderfully combined with a ride on the nostalgic narrow-gauge railroad "Vulkan-Expreß". Engeln station is the ideal starting and finishing point. Of course, it is also possible to start at other points. Follow the yellow access route signs to the Steinrausch adventure forest. Now continue along a section of the Eifel ladder to Spessart and return to Engeln station via the access path.

Route description:

From Engeln train station, the route leads through the small village of Engeln along the edge of the forest over the Engelner Kopf towards Kempenich. The trail leads past the Rottlandhöfe farms where, with a bit of luck, you can admire a herd of alpacas on the pastures. The route continues through Kempenich to the Steinrausch adventure forest. This is not just a fun way for young hikers to get to know the forest and its inhabitants. The route continues along a section of the Eifel ladder towards Spessart. After an ascent through the fields and meadows, hikers are rewarded with a view of Olbrück Castle until they reach Engeln railroad station. In Kempenich and Spessart there is the opportunity to stop for a bite to eat.
