The Roman Canal Hiking Trail invites you to discover the impressive remains of the almost two-thousand-year-old Roman canal in the Eifel region. Over a total of 115 kilometers, divided into seven stages, the modernized hiking trail follows the historic water conduit from Nettersheim to Cologne - a true masterpiece of Roman engineering.
Thanks to perfect signposting and over 50 newly installed information boards along the route, you will gain exciting insights into the history and function of this once so important waterway.
Whether as a multi-day adventure or as individual daily stages - the Roman Canal Trail can be explored flexibly thanks to the parallel connection to the Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe (KVB) railroad lines.

- Kall-Mechernich (16km, 4-5 hours)
- Mechernich-Euskirchen (13km, 3-4 hours)
- Euskrichen-Rheinbach (16km, 4-5 hours)
- Rheinbach-Bornheim (22km, 4-5 hours)
- Bornheim-Brühl (15km, 4-5 hours)
- Brühl-Cologne (19km, 5-6 hours)
