In the Southern Eifel Nature Park there are wheelchair tractors, Swiss-Tracs, which can be used to visit existing hiking trails. One route suitable for Swiss-Tracs with a special highlight, the new suspension bridge over the Irrel waterfalls, is the combined route Irrel waterfalls - Prümzurlay suspension bridge.

The starting point is the barrier-free parking lot opposite the Irrel Waterfalls. The trail first leads through the forest to below Prüm Castle (not barrier-free accessible). After crossing the Prüm, the path runs along the Prüm until the suspension bridge over the Irrel Waterfalls can be seen. The suspension bridge is 110 meters long, 16 meters above the Prüm. The base of the suspension bridge consists of particularly close-meshed grating, so it is not a transparent surface. Visitors can enjoy the spectacular view of the Prüm Valley from the suspension bridge before returning to the starting point.

Wheelchair users and their companions can borrow the traction devices at various service stations in the nature park and explore selected routes. The service stations can be found at www.naturpark-suedeifel.de with information on the wheelchair towing devices, the location of the service stations and corresponding route maps. In addition, an animated explanatory video shows how the rental of the traction devices works.
