We start our hike "Around Schuld" in the center of the village at the bridge at the rest area by the lime tree.
We first follow the footpath over the bridge in the direction of the church and then turn into Domhofstraße between "Hotel Schäfer" and "Hotel zur Linde".
After about 150 meters, we take the steep sidewalk to the right and reach Domhofstraße, which we follow to the right over the bridge and behind it along Römerstraße to the left until the sharp left-hand bend.
Here we now go straight ahead onto the paved farm track (cycle path) and after about 100 meters we meet the "AhrSteig" coming from the front for the first time,
which we follow uphill to the left. At the end of the "steep section", we stay on the AhrSteig to the right.
Shortly after the second bend, a path leads to the left into the so-called "Spicherley", a rock formation with a wonderful view over our village and further west to the 623m high Aremberg. A viewing hut and a bench invite you to linger. After crossing the rock, the path leads us down the valley through mixed forest on the AhrSteig trail. We cross a small stream which we now follow on the right-hand side. At the end of the path, another bench invites you to rest and enjoy a different view of Schuld. We continue along the path until we reach the first houses in the weekend area. There we leave the "AhrSteig" for the time being, which turns off to the left, and follow the path straight ahead through the weekend area until we reach district road 26. We follow this road uphill for about 400 meters until the next sharp right-hand bend. Here, a small path leads straight ahead through the so-called "Branderhardt", a slope interspersed with scree and rocks, which we now walk through.
From here you can see the "Bahnhof" district. In the middle, only the station building remains of the former large station. The well-known "AhrSteig" also runs above the meadows.
Following the path, past some weekend houses, we reach a single wooden house and a path which we follow to the left towards the road junction.
! Attention! Here we have to cross the Münstereifeler Straße.
On the opposite side, we first keep left and then follow the country road 73 to the right, over the small bridge, in the direction of Antweiler.
After about 250 meters, we turn right into the path "Auf Weiher", which we now follow past a few houses for about 300 meters.
In the ascending right-hand bend, we leave the path straight ahead into a forest path.
After about 50 meters we keep right and follow the narrow path down to the country road 73, where we have to cross a crash barrier and cross the road.

Now we cross the bridge and leave the road to the left onto the farm track. At the top, after a long left-hand bend, we meet the "AhrSteig" again, which we follow straight ahead.
The following section of the AhrSteig leads us along the so-called "Jägersteig" - a very challenging and beautiful path that runs through the forest above the Ahr and the Schulder campsite.
At the end of the path, we find ourselves above the meadows that we saw earlier from the other side. Here we continue along the "AhrSteig" to the church, which we see on our right.
After about 1 km, we cross the "Bubenley", which has become widely known for the large village community festival "Ahrfelsen in Flammen" .
Here, too, it is worth taking a few minutes' rest on a bench to enjoy the view of the village.
If you still have time and feel like it, you can also "take in" two lookout towers above the path before leaving the path and heading down to the church. They can be reached in a few minutes and offer a wonderful view over the village and its surroundings - it's well worth it.
Following the path down to the left, we reach the parish church "St. Gertrud" - an opportunity to pause for a few minutes after the hike.
Otherwise, you only need to follow the road to the left over the bridge to get back to the starting point of the hike.
