Yevgenia Pikovsky (violin) and Villa Musica scholarship holders Collaborative concert

Together with Villa Musica, we invite you to a special concert evening with internationally acclaimed violinist Yevgenia Pikovsky and the scholarship holders of the renowned support programme. Pikovsky inspires with her virtuosity and musical depth, which she unfolds together with the young talents in a demanding programme.

The programme includes Alban Berg's expressive Piano Sonata in B minor, Op. 1, followed by Shostakovich's impressive Piano Quintet in G minor, Op. 57. Volker David Kirchner's poetic ‘Echo and Narcissus’ for piano quartet opens up a world full of timbres, while Ernest Bloch's ‘Prayer’ for cello and piano sensitively expresses Jewish spirituality. The evening comes to an atmospheric close with Ronn Yedidia's energetic ‘Rondo Macabre’ and Fanny Mendelssohn's lyrical and elegant Piano Quartet in A flat major. A multifaceted programme between tradition and modernity.
