Traditionelle Echternacher Springprozession

The traditional spring procession to Echternach will take place again at Pentecost.

Spring Procession

The beginning is on Pentecost Sunday at 12:55 p.m. with a short devotion and the blessing in the Basilica of St. Salvator in Prüm. The pilgrims march over 
Niederprüm, Pronsfeld, and Lünebach to Waxweiler. On Pentecost Monday, there is a holy mass for the pilgrims at 6:00 a.m. in the church in Waxweiler. After a 
pilgrim service and pilgrim breakfast at the Dechant-Faber-Haus, the pilgrimage starts at 7:00 a.m. over Krautscheid, Neuerburg, Sinspelt, Mettendorf, Nusbaum to 
Bollendorf.  
On Tuesday at 5:50 a.m., everyone walks the last section to Echternach. At 8:00 a.m., there is the Pontifical Mass in the Basilica of Echternach and subsequently the 
Spring Procession. The Echternach pilgrims arrive back in Prüm on Tuesday between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. for the final blessing in the Basilica of St. Salvator.
