On July 4th, great live music returns to the shores of Gemündener Maar: Rüdiger Baldauf meets the distinctive voice of Max Mutzke. Baldauf, one of the country's most prominent trumpeters, combines jazz, funk, and pop into an electrifying live experience – precisely arranged, passionately performed, and infused with elegance. Max Mutzke, who once created magical moments at Klassiker auf dem Vulkan, brings his vocal brilliance to the evening: between gentle soul intimacy and explosive pop outbursts, always with that warm, immediately recognizable timbre that goes straight to the soul. Together, they create a stage full of colors: virtuosic trumpet lines, dense grooves, grand melodies – and a dialogue between horn and voice that ideally balances emotion and energy.

The backdrop at Gemündener Maar sets the perfect frame: The natural acoustics by the water allow finer nuances to shine while capturing the grand gestures. As twilight descends over the Eifel heights and the last light reflects in the maar, musical intensity and natural experience collide directly – a concert that is not just heard, but lived.
