Gabriela Lena Frank's opera vibrantly and musically tells the story of the turbulent life and toxic relationship of two icons of art history: Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. In her final hours, Frida reflects on the key moments of their relationship, which was marked by passion and pain in its brief and tumultuous love.
