History in slices - How music makes politics.
Cabaret
Without the groundbreaking invention of the electric guitar, history would have played out differently. The 1968ers, Jimi Hendrix, the hippies, Janis Joplin, and Woodstock would not have occurred as we know them without the invention of the electric guitar.
It is the soundtrack and its resonances in society that make a movement successful. The house occupiers had Ton Steine Scherben and the peace movement had Bots & BAP. The women’s movement had Ina Deter, and the punkers had Patti Smith. The climate movement stands today without its own sound and risks losing: The earth is becoming relentlessly hotter. A disaster that Jürgen Becker perfectly analyzes in "Deine Disco."
"Deine Disco" is a cabaret program like no other: politics, records, protest, and punchlines are mixed live on stage as an exhilarating radio show. One dives satirically deep into the sound waves of the restless youth and thereby even saves the future: Follow the Science.
