Dampflokfahrt mit dem Vulkan-Expreß

Vulkan-Expreß

10:15 AM

A trip with the Brohltalbahn is more than just a train ride. It is pure everyday deceleration, a true experience of technology and nature. It brings the volcanic region of Laacher See with its unique volcanic landscape to life and gives a sense of the "effort" it takes the locomotives to overcome around 400 meters in altitude between the Rhine and Eifel. Step on board and experience a unique narrow-gauge railway in the attractive landscape of the Eastern Eifel!

On the nearly 18 km long narrow-gauge route from Brohl on the Rhine to Engeln in the Eifel, our train crosses several high viaducts and travels through a nearly 100 meter long tunnel. Almost 400 meters of altitude are overcome! On most days, our trains are pulled by green/beige painted diesel locomotives. Experience how our locomotives must fully exert their power on the steep section between Oberzissen and Engeln to bring the train on time to its destination! On selected days, we regularly also operate our historic steam locomotive "11sm".
