Demerather Drees

Demerath

Visit the “Demerather Drees”, the "Säuerling" in the middle of the forest in the immediate vicinity of the Geisert nature reserve, one of two juniper nature reserves in the area.
The resting place at the Vulcano path invites hikers to linger. The history of the "Drees" is documented on an illustrated board. Unfortunately, the fluoride-containing sodium magnesium calcium hydrogen carbonate acidulous water is not of drinking water quality.

The special feature of the well casing at the “Demerather Drees” is the mounted handle pump. Here you can pump approx. 8 degrees cold, mineral, carbonated and strongly ferrous water for refreshment.

As part of a measure of the Volcano Eifel Nature and Geopark, the spring and the forecourt were redesigned and made accessible.
The “Dreisborn” belongs to the municipality of Bettenfeld. A hike along the VulkaMaar path will take you close by.

The brochure "Dreese - Mineralwasser- und Kohlensäurequellen der Vulkaneifel ", available at our GesundLand tourist information offices and at the Vulkaneifel Nature and UNESCO Global Geopark will show you the way - here
