Kletterkurs für AUFsteiger auf dem Burgenklettersteig

You have already climbed easy via ferrata routes in categories A-B and would like to improve your skills. If you are interested in conquering via ferrata routes of difficulty C-D at the castles in Manderscheid or later in alpine terrain, then our "AUFsteiger" via ferrata course is just right for you. Our guides will train you in the technique of climbing in a way that saves energy and allows you to safely tackle slightly overhanging passages. We will climb the "Lieser" section and prepare for the highlight of the suspension bridge ("Niederburg" section) with the subsequent D section.

If you want to complete the challenging Niederburg stage with its many C/D sections, we recommend our Ascender+ course. Here you need to be fit in your arms and have previous experience with C via ferratas.

Procedure:

A short introduction and briefing will take place at the GesundLand Tourist Information in Manderscheid. Together we hike to the start of the "Lieser" stage at Achtergraben in approx. 20 minutes. The route alternates between rugged rock formations and short hiking passages through the Lieser valley - always with a direct view of the gently rushing stream. After climbing part of the most challenging stage "Niederburg", we reach another highlight of the tour. We enter this stage in the last third of the Liederet stage. With a length of 60 m and a height of 20 m, the castle bridge is just the thing for adrenaline junkies. The route continues via a C/D section to the summit cross and then back to the starting point. The course ends after approx. 3-4 hours with the return of the equipment at the GesundLand Tourist Information.

Climbing techniques on the rock, energy-saving climbing, arm and foot techniques, use of the quickdraw, overhanging passages

- Connection of via ferrata set and lanyard

- Long arm climbing

- Footwork technique

- Breaks in the via ferrata

- Climbing on the steel cable/open door

- Use of the quickdraw
