This is the perfect combination for a winter's day: experience the winter landscape in the Schönecker Schweiz nature reserve on a leisurely walk with the llamas and alpacas and then fortify yourself with warm drinks and snacks!
Our alpacas and llamas graze directly below Schönecken Castle on a meadow orchard. There we get to know the animals in a relaxed manner and learn how to lead these patient and curious animals. Then our walk begins at the "Schönecker Schweiz" nature reserve!
Our winter walk takes us around the "Rammenfeld" ridge. First we walk out of the village on a paved path. Directly behind the last houses, we walk along a grassy nature trail and enjoy the wide view of the fields and meadows along the Burbach. Now we walk along above the Altburgbach stream. We take a short break here and have time to take photos with the animals.
Another highlight of our winter hike is the ruins of Schönecken Castle, whose two mighty towers tower high above Schönecken. After our leisurely one-hour mulled wine hike past the Wilhelmshöhe, we reach our pasture again without any major differences in altitude.
Once here, the grazing season begins: we unharness the animals and give them delicious hay to eat. With a bit of luck, you can continue to stroke the animals or even brush them a little. Enjoy the peace and serenity of the animals in their familiar surroundings!
While the animals eat with relish, there is delicious warm punch and mulled wine for the two-legged friends - both home-made with spices from the Orient, of course. In the pre-Christmas period, we also serve pastries and dates from Oman; after the turn of the year, spicy finger food. After this cozy finale, we unfortunately have to say goodbye to the llamas and alpacas.
