Feasting, mulled wine & hiking with llamas in winter: The perfect combination for a cold day during Advent! Experience the winter landscape in the Schönecker Schweiz nature reserve with the llamas. Halfway along the trail, you can warm up with a fragrant mulled wine and enjoy a delicious crêpe, a freshly baked waffle or a bratwurst. Afterwards, you will return to the llama pasture at a leisurely pace together with our woolly companions.
This very special Advent experience starts at the llama pasture directly below Schönecker Burgberg. After getting to know our four-legged tour companions, we set off. We hike through the wintry Eifel landscape, enjoying the clear air and the peace and quiet that our llamas radiate.
Right at the start, we hike down into the valley of the Altburgbach stream. We are accompanied by orchards and the dark silhouettes of juniper bushes. We then climb the "Op Ischt" ridge and let our gaze wander as far as the High Fens. A steep footpath leads from there down to the Nims. After about an hour's walk, we reach the "Nice Corner" crêperie, which is located directly on the banks of the river.
Here we can choose between delicious sweet and savory crêpes: Do you fancy a crêpe with chocolate and banana, or a crêpe with cheese and onions? Would you prefer a freshly baked waffle or even a delicious sausage? Would you like some cocoa or coffee to go with it? Would you like to warm up with a (non-alcoholic) mulled wine or tea? The choice is yours!
We sit together comfortably for about half an hour. Meanwhile, our llamas graze in the adjacent meadow. We then follow the Schalkenbach upstream. We soon enter a beech forest with mighty, towering giant trees. After another hour of walking, we reach our stable again. Here we say goodbye to our faithful companions, the llamas.
