The St. Nikolaus Youth Center Rursee is located on the edge of the village of Schmidt. The buildings of the youth center are located on a 3-hectare forest and meadow area above the Rursee, with the Eifel National Park in the immediate vicinity. Schmidt itself has a tourist information point in the church of St. Hubertus (popularly known as St. Mokka), which is also a tourist attraction in its own right. The lake itself is only a 20-30 minute walk away. The spacious outdoor area is ideal for a wide range of leisure activities. End the day with a cozy campfire in our tepee. The Aachen Diocesan Association of the German Scout Association of St. George (DPSG) is the sponsor of the Rursee youth center. With 120 beds divided into two houses, the youth center offers space for everyone all year round, whether school classes, youth associations, youth and adult groups, course groups or nature lovers. Our fully catered house "Haus am Brunnen" offers space for 82 people. Some of the rooms are equipped with shower and WC. The house has two individually usable floors, each with a conference room. We also offer 3 different self-catering units from 8 to 30 people. Our self-catering house "Landhaus am Scheidbaum" offers space for 30 people. It is equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, rustic dining room and cozy common room, as well as shower and washrooms. Our apartment "Zur Kapelle" is a small accommodation unit for self-catering and offers space for up to 8 people. It is equipped with a modern, fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen also serves as a lounge and offers space for cozy get-togethers. There is a bathroom with shower, basin and WC, as well as a separate WC. 3 bedrooms with bunk beds (2 with two beds and one with four beds) are available. The "Haus am Hang" (scout house) is a small, cozy self-catering house with a rural ambience and simple furnishings. It is equipped with a small, functional kitchen, two bathrooms with shower and WC and 4 small bedrooms for 2 people each. Two lounges invite you to share activities and get-togethers. One of the group rooms is furnished with a couch, the other with tables and chairs. Here you will find the ideal conditions for leisure and educational work, as well as conferences, training courses and meetings.

The Kaifenheimer mill, first mentioned in 1005, lies in the Brohlbach valley immersed in nature, surrounded by meadows, fields and forest, 800 meters from the village Kaifenheim. Despite this solitary position the mill is traffic-technically very well connected - the mill has its own bus stop (400 m) and the A48 can be reached in five minutes. The mill offers - the guest seeking recreation an oasis of tranquility - meadows and wood close to the mill are part of the estate, - the rambler plentiful opportunity for hiking tours in the near and far - the award-winning premium hiking trails as "STraumpfade" and the stages of the "Mosel Trail" is a few minutes in reach, - the bike hikers many varied tours, across the low mountains of the Eifel and the river valley of the Mosel, - the patrimonial interested visitors many opportunities for excursions through a varied landscape - the volcanic Eifel and culturally important cities like Trier, Koblenz and Mayen and its many attractions are within easy reach, - the connoisseurs of excellent wines and good food the nearby Moselle and excellent country inns in the area. You spend your holidays in a former water mill, which was used to grind grain, and later for the production of rapeseed oil. The waterwheel and the art in the mill building are still fully present, and will be shown on request to our guests. The mill consists of five buildings that are partially used for private and tourist residential purposes. A central part of the farm are the, Grade II Listed chapel established in 1895, and a grotto dedicated to the Holy Bernadette.
