Unforgettable tours to the volcanic craters of the Dauner Maare and countless other hiking trails can be reached in no time by car. The apartment is the perfect starting point for your vacation in the Vulkaneifel. The district town of Daun itself offers you numerous cultural activities on site as well as countless excursion and hiking opportunities in the region. Arrival & connections: The top floor apartment is located in a three-party house. Free parking spaces are available in the street. For your further mobility on site, the bus station in Daun is less than 5 minutes' walk away. Buses leave from there to the nearest larger towns such as Gerolstein or to many excursion destinations and hiking starting points in the surrounding area. How to get there: By car from the direction of Cologne (north): Follow the A1 to the end of the highway (near Blankenheim). From there, continue on the country road, which will take you to Daun via Hillesheim. From Koblenz or Trier (south): Follow the A48/A1 to the Vulkaneifel highway junction. From there, take the road towards Daun. The apartment is located on the outskirts of Daun and is easily accessible by car. By train: The nearest train stations are Gerolstein station (20 km) and Wittlich main station (34 km). From there you can take a cab or a bus to Daun ZOB. Daun ZOB is only 350m from the apartment. Other train stations nearby are Koblenz main station (75 km) and ICE station Montabaur (90 km).

Our vacation home Eifel Casa with the vacation apartment Falkenlay is located in the village of Kennfus with 490 inhabitants. Kennfus lies in the middle of the Vulkaneifel, above the spa town of Bad Bertrich. The fantastic location and the many opportunities to experience nature make our vacation apartment so special. The apartment has two bedrooms, a kitchen with dining area, a spacious living and dining room, a bathroom and a separate toilet, a separate parking space, a carport and a large garage with direct access to the apartment. On the sunny south-facing balcony you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Eifel-Mosel-Hunsrück region. There is also a terrace/open veranda area. The house offers a lot of space with an area of 160m² divided on 3 floors with a property of 900m² up to 8 persons can stay in the house “Pehlen” (according to an agreement also up to 10 persons). On the ground-floor you can find the kitchen, the dining room, the living room and a lavatory. The bedrooms with a double bed are on the first floor as well as the bathroom. One double room has a sink and a balcony. In the attic is a further room with two single beds and a playroom for children. In the corridor is a further sink. The house is provided with a place to barbecue and a sitting area. It also has a big play-ground. According to agreement the use of the garage is possible (e.g. for bikes, motorbikes, cars and so on) The holiday-house is situated in the centre of Manderscheid. It between 5 to 10 minutes it is possible to reach supermarkets (Norma and Penny), a butcher, a doctor (for an emergency), a pharmacy, an outdoor-swimming pool, a tourist-information, the “Maar-Museum” and the “Eifelsteig” (which is a hiking-tour). From the Autobahn (A1/A48) between Koblenz and Trier you need approximately 5 km to reach Manderscheid.

We have our own free parking lot!!! The "Nähkiste" has room for a maximum of 5 people. There is 1 double room with shower on the 1st floor and 1 double room and 1 single room in the attic. The bathroom for the attic rooms is on the 2nd floor. The garden terrace and a double swing with slide are also at your disposal on the 2nd floor.
