A hiking trail through the Nitzbach valley with the opportunity to visit Bürresheim Castle and stop off at the Hammesmühle.

The Schlossweg is a walking trail in the city forest of Mayen. The starting point is the small village of Nitztal. From here, you walk through the forest along the Bleiberges. After walking around the Bleiberges, you continue to Bürresheim Castle. This can be visited. The Hammesmühle, which is only a short detour from the trail, is a good place to stop for refreshments. You then return through the Nitztal valley. The path runs along the small Nitz stream. At the end, you are back in the village of Nitztal.
