Beauty, uniqueness and fragility characterize the nature on our doorstep. From the sandy beaches of the North and Baltic Seas to the Alps in the far south of our homeland, from the post-mining landscapes in the east to the cultivated landscape in the west, animal and nature photographer Sven Meurs spent five years traveling through our native, unknown wilderness.

Deer, kingfishers and bison amaze the photographer. Playing wolf pups in Wendland leave him speechless and on Helgoland he gets very close to gannets and grey seals. At the Kaiserstuhl, in the Alps and in many unknown landscapes, he experiences the diversity of species on our own doorstep.
