Summer program for children on the theme of the Romans.

The so-called Roman Canal—the Roman aqueduct that carried water from the Eifel to Cologne—was not used solely for supplying drinking water. The Roman baths, or thermae, required many thousands of liters of fresh water—especially in a major Roman city like Cologne. After an introduction to the construction of Roman aqueducts, the participating children take a playful tour of a Roman thermal bath complex. There, the Romans not only bathed but also played ball games and board games. To go along with this, the children will make a Roman nine-men’s morris game.

For preschool and elementary school-aged children. Duration: 1.5–2 hours. Maximum number of participants: 15 children.
