Klavierabend mit Kotaro FukumaWittlicher KonzerteKarteSoirée de la musique française
Japanese pianist Kotaro Fukuma is one of the outstanding artists of his generation. At the age of 20, he won the prestigious piano competition in Cleveland – since then, he has performed in the world's major concert halls. Fukuma impresses with his technical brilliance, poetic sound and extraordinary stylistic range from Bach to the present day. He has a special affinity for French music, which he also revives through his own transcriptions.
In this programme, Fukuma devotes himself to the French sound world – impressionistic, colourful and full of atmosphere. The programme opens with Satie's famous Gymnopédie No. 1, followed by his own arrangement of the sensual Valse Je te veux. This is followed by Fauré's lyrical Thème et Variations and impressionistic masterpieces by Debussy such as Clair de Lune and L'Isle Joyeuse. A highlight is the German premiere of Laurent Mettraux's ‘Le Tombeau de Ravel’, composed in 2024 for Kotaro Fukuma. The programme concludes with Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit and La Valse – the latter in a fascinating transcription by the pianist himself. An evening full of refined sound poetry and virtuoso expressiveness.
