After a short ride on the Vulkan-Expreß, the historic narrow-gauge train, we head out into nature with experienced volcano park guide Konrad Friedgen: past the Trasshöhlen caves and up to our destination, the "Hohe Buche" volcano . During the hike, you will have to overcome approx. 200 meters of altitude in high, sturdy footwear. Telescopic poles are recommended for the descent over the Dicktberg back
to the starting point. Over 2000 years ago, the basalt stones
for the Trier Moselle Bridge were quarried at the "Hohe Buche" volcano. These traces can still be seen today.

There may be an opportunity to visit the 650-year-oldMosenmühle, also known as the Schweppenburger Mühle, at short notice. The only flour mill still in operation in the Brohl valley can look back on a long tradition.

Sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for the weather are required.
