The Ettringen brass band is a guest at the castle with their concert program "Mystic Moments." Not only in their home community of Ettringen do the musicians from Hochsimmer have a loyal fan base. Also in the festival town of Mayen and beyond, they have repeatedly been able to captivate a broad audience with their interpretations of modern concert brass music. This is also expected to be the case during this summer guest performance at the Mayen Genoveva Castle.

The orchestra of the Ettringen brass band takes its audience on a journey through time to the "Mystic Moments": from the last unicorns to the legendary sword Excalibur, all the way to the story of the American state of Virginia and the witch hunts, the program is extensive. Even the legendary Austrian queen will be honored musically. With well-known and demanding works arranged for brass band from film and musical like "King Arthur," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Elisabeth," and "Beauty and the Beast," the ensemble proves its skills, as well as with pieces specially composed for brass band like "Voice of the Vikings," "The Witch and the Saint," or "Virginia."
These compositions illuminate the sound body of modern brass bands in all its facets. If there was any argument needed to prove that brass music has detached itself from the dusty image of tent entertainment, it will be delivered this summer at the Mayen castle.
