Church meets art and music – Sunday, August 24, 2025, St. Kastor and Katharina Church in KehrigA initiative of the kirchRAUMpilot*innen in Kehrig

At 9:30 a.m., a festive high mass will take place in celebration of the 925th anniversary of the local community of Kehrig, musically accompanied by the Mandolin Club Elztalecho Kehrig e.V.
Throughout the day, local artists from Kehrig will present their works in the church. Look forward to Cristina Archer, Helmut Dietz, Iris Fuhrmann, Monika Geisen-Spengler, Ingo Linz, Heinrich Simonis, and Elli Werner.
At 5:30 p.m., the concert "Music Connects" with the mandolin orchestra conducted by Thomas Braun will take place. Classical and contemporary music will be performed, including Irish, Latin American, and film music works.
This is an offering as part of the "kirchRAUMpilot*innen" project. The project is supported by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Home until spring 2027 in collaboration with the Vordereifel Association Community, the Diocese of Trier, and the University of Koblenz. The aim of the project is to strengthen community cohesion and social interaction within village communities. Churches, as traditional places of community, can thus become a new social meeting point for everyone in the village through extended or new usages.
