Dinosaurierpark Teufelsschlucht
"Geotopschutz und Geotourismus: Aktivitäten der Erdgeschichtlichen Denkmalpflege in der Eifel" - Dr. Thomas Schindler reports as part of the lecture series "Jurassic Talks" at the Teufelsschlucht Dinosaur Park.
Protecting - Researching - Advising - Informing: These are the tasks of the Geological Monument Preservation of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. Valuable private collections must be preserved, and immovable geological monuments protected. To ensure this, the Geological Monument Preservation supports municipalities and local interest groups in developing regional museums and geo-trails, which play an increasingly important role in extracurricular education and as geo-touristic leisure offerings.
In the Eifel region, there are many important geological outcrops of varying ages, and in recent decades several geo-museums and trails have emerged here, such as the "Devonium" in Waxweiler and the "Vulkanhaus" as well as the "Vulkanpfad" in Strohn. Dr. Thomas Schindler, head of the Geological Monument Preservation at the General Directorate for Cultural Heritage Rhineland-Palatinate, will present the activities in his lecture "Geotopschutz und Geotourismus: Aktivitäten der Erdgeschichtlichen Denkmalpflege in der Eifel."
The lecture will take place in the Dinosaur Park, starting at 7:00 PM and lasting approximately 45 minutes.
