An adventure hike from the Eifel heights down into the Wittlich valley

The middle Lieser valley between Daun and Wittlich is one of the most pristine forest landscapes in the Eifel region. The approx. 13 km long tour from Großlittgen leads along natural paths along the attractive Lieser Trail. This route is unique because of the bizarre rocks, primeval trees and abrupt gorges that have to be crossed on wooden bridges. You will learn about the many mosses, lichens and ferns that adorn the trees and create a fairytale forest. The geological age and formation of this landscape, into which the Lieser has carved a steep valley, are also revealed to hikers. Shortly before reaching the town of Wittlich, the destination of our hike, we cross the 50th parallel and enter the Wittlich depression.
