Day trip to the exhibition ‘Caesar and Cleopatra’

The Wittlich Stadt & Land Tourist Information Office, in cooperation with VHS Wittlich Stadt und Land e.V. and Peter Zirbes Kulturkreis, is offering a bus trip to the spectacular ‘Caesar & Cleopatra’ exhibition at the Historical Museum in Speyer. No couple in ancient history is as famous as Caesar and Cleopatra – but what is myth and what is reality? Was it true love or political calculation that bound them together and ultimately sealed their tragic fate? Immerse yourself in an era of upheaval, marked by change and continuity, by the decline of an old world order and the rise of a new one, at the exhibition in the Historical Museum in Speyer. More than 200 exhibits from over 30 lenders in eight European countries bring the history of the fall of the Roman Republic to life. They not only tell the moving stories from the lives of Cleopatra VII and Gaius Julius Caesar, but also recount the political, social and cultural changes of this decisive era. Reconstructions created especially for the exhibition take you on a visit to Republican Rome and Ptolemaic Alexandria of that time.

The price includes return travel in a modern coach provided by Raskob Reisen and admission (group price) to the exhibition. A time slot has been booked for 12 noon. The duration of the exhibition visit is 60 to 90 minutes. Departure from Wittlich is at 9 a.m., and the return journey from Speyer is scheduled for 3 p.m. A break at a service station is planned for both the outward and return
