Beschreibung

The “Wilde Weg” is a 1.5 kilometre-long nature discovery path in the Eifel National Park.

There are wild forests in the Eifel National Park.

Man does not intervene in these forests.

Nature is simply allowed to be nature.

You can walk along the Wilder Weg nature discovery trail.

The trail is in the middle of the national park.

The path is short.

The path leads over wide wooden footbridges.

The boardwalks are higher than the normal ground.

You can see the forest better on the boardwalks.

And be very close to nature.

A forest guide explains a lot about the plants in the

about the plants in the national park.

And shows you the forest animals.

There is also a tree tunnel:

This is a tunnel in the shape of a large tree trunk.

The tunnel contains lots of information about the animals in the forest.
And the plants.
Children particularly like the Wild Path.
Because children can touch something in many places.
And can learn something.
For example, children can learn about mushrooms.

Or children can learn
what happens to the forest during a storm.
Or what animals do to the forest.
Adults can learn the same.

There are large steel animal figures along the way.
The animal figures are as big as real animals.
For example, you can see how big a deer is.

Part of the path is a climbing path:
On the climbing path you can walk over large tree trunks.
If you don't want to climb,
you can also take the normal path.
The normal path is also good for pushchairs.
Or wheelchairs.

The Wild Path is part of the Kermeter:
This is a large forest in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Kermeter is specially protected.
