The Astronomical Association continues its lecture series.  The month of February is themed: Impacts from Asteroids and Comets - Danger to Earth


The Astronomical Association continues its event series both in person and online.

Speaker:
Dr.-Ing. Christian Gritzner - German Aerospace Center (DLR)


Impacts of asteroids and comets on planetary surfaces are normal occurrences in our solar system. While dust particles may glow as meteors and burn up upon entering the Earth's atmosphere, larger objects can reach the ground and cause damage on a local to global scale, as evidenced by numerous impact craters. Astronomy and aerospace technology today allow us to detect these dangers early and take defensive measures. This lecture will present this information in an illustrative manner.


For the in-person event at the Hoher List Observatory, the number of participants is limited. Therefore, registration with the indication "In-Person Attendance" at kontakt@hoher-list.de is required.

Since then, they have been an integral part of Cologne's cultural scene and are as much a part of Cologne as the cathedral. ****************** KLÜNGELKÖPP Since their foundation in 2003, the KLÜNGELKÖPP have been able to play their way into the top group of Cologne bands. Three victories at TOP JECK, Radio Cologne's carnival hit parade, as well as winning the Närrischer Oscar (audience award from the Kölner Express) twice are proof of the group's popularity with carnival organizers and audiences.
