On 11 and 12 July, the popular open-air cinema nights, organized by the Mayen organizers' association (Kreissparkasse Mayen, Mayen am Wochenende, MHT, City of Mayen and Wochenspiegel) and Corso Kino Mayen, will once again take place on the Mayen Grubenfeld.

On Friday, the drama "The Salt Trail", based on an international bestseller by Raynor Winn, will be shown.

Plot: Moth (Jason Isaacs) and Raynor (Gillian Anderson) are left with nothing: their home, their fortune and Moth's health are lost. With only a rucksack and a small tent, they set off on a courageous journey along the South West Coast Path, England's famous coastal footpath. With no fixed abode, the place where they set up camp becomes their new home. Along the way, they struggle with prejudice, rejection and the constant worry of not having enough money for the next day. But despite all the adversity, they find solace and inspiration in nature and chance encounters. Their hike becomes a journey back to life, during which they rediscover their love, develop inner strength and lay the foundations for a new future.

Movie fans should bring blankets, cushions, camping chairs or other seating/reclining options and a flashlight for the way back.

Admission to the film screenings at Grubenfeld in Mayen, An den Mühlsteinen 7 (Erlebniswelten Grubenfeld), is at 8 pm. The movie starts at around 10 p.m. - if it is dark enough.

Tickets are available at the box office, at the Corso-Kino Mayen box office and online at www.corso-mayen.de.

Children and young people under the age of 12 may only attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

As a culinary offer, the "May Impasta" pasta trolley with fresh pasta dishes will be open on Friday until the start of the movie. Popcorn will also be available and drinks will be provided by the Mayen archers.
