Together with our guides, you will learn how to climb via ferrata routes. On our practice via ferrata and the route along the Oberburg, we will provide you with the necessary knowledge and routine so that you are able to tackle via ferrata routes independently. The highlight of the course is that you conquer a via ferrata with sections from A to C.

Procedure:
There will be a short introduction and briefing at the GesundLand tourist information centre in Manderscheid. Together we walk to our practice via ferrata at the Tunierwiese in about 15 minutes. This is followed by the climbing tour of the "Oberburg" stage. The course will end after approx. 3-4 hours with the equipment being returned to the GesundLand Tourist Information Centre.

Training:
Material science, dangers on the via ferrata, roping up on the via ferrata, correct use of the via ferrata set, possible mistakes when using it, walking on the via ferrata, climbing techniques on the rock, via ferrata tour on the Oberburg.

Contents:

• Selection of suitable via ferrata routes
• Information on the necessary equipment, correct handling and safety
• Teaching and practising various climbing techniques
• Practising what you have learnt on the via ferrata/Oberburg A/B short section C
• Return to the tourist information centre

Your equipment should include (depending on the weather):

• long touring trousers, rain jacket if necessary, gloves (garden or work gloves are also suitable, you can also buy gloves on site)
• Hiking boots with sturdy soles (optimum sole hardness B/C or C) or approach shoes (approach shoes)
• Small pharmacy if necessary -sun protection, sunglasses
• provisions (muesli or power bars and enough drinks)
