An exciting journey into the heart of the volcano for families with children.
May 29, 2021
We meet in a real volcano: the Wartgesberg volcano in Strohn. Thousands of years ago, all hell broke loose here. Today it is a quarry where lava is mined and otherwise inaccessible. The quarrying has created an exciting landscape that delights young and old alike. Colours, shapes and glittering stone, no two stones are alike. How does a volcano work? Where are there volcanoes everywhere in the Eifel? Do all volcanoes look the same? I will answer these and many more questions in an understandable way. For your own safety, be sure to bring a safety helmet (or bicycle helmet). A "must" for every hobby geologist, as well as sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing. A small snack and something to drink should also be in your luggage. Suitable for children from the age of 5 years.
