In the Eifel National Park centre at the Vogelsang IP “International Place”, visitors can experience nature with all their senses - indoors and outdoors. Surrounded by dense mixed deciduous forests, the modern visitors’ centre above the Urftsee lake has hosted the “Wildnis(t)räume” (“Wilderness Dreams”) exhibition - a barrier-free, interactive nature experience for people of all ages. The Eifel National Park centre is open all year round.
In the Donnerwetter.de weather park on the almost 700 meter high White Stone in the Eifel, there are insights into the weather, climate and people. In the exhibition hall you can find out how various weather phenomena such as thunderstorms or hurricanes arise.
Between March and May there is a natural spectacle in the Eifel that is unparalleled: Millions of wild daffodils stretch their little heads towards the sun and transform the valley meadows into a yellow sea of blossoms. Whether on a guided tour or on your own - a hike in the Oleftal becomes a special experience during this time.
In the Werther Tor, the district association for nature and environmental protection e.V. Euskirchen, local working group Bad Münstereifel, with the help of the North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation and the Rhine. Museum Office created a walk-in diorama in which the nature around Bad Münstereifel is shown.
The south-western town tower is located directly above the Heisterbach Gate at a height of about 300 metres above sea level. It represents the highest point in Bad Münstereifel's 14th century town fortifications.
