All the fishing ponds are well stocked with carp, tench, char and other fish. Bait can be purchased in the kiosk belonging to the facility.
First opened in the early 1970s, the Mohnen angling park has lost none of its original charm to this day. Located on the outskirts of Stolberg-Gressenich and framed by woods and meadows, three large ponds invite you to relax and fish in idyllic surroundings.
The three ponds have a water surface area of 1,500 to 4,000 square metres and a maximum depth of two metres. Pond 1 is regularly stocked with salmon trout, pond 3 with portion-sized rainbow trout. In addition, efforts are made to diversify the stocking with other fish and make it attractive. Depending on availability, golden trout, brook trout, brown trout and other salmonids can also be caught without special announcement. In addition, the ponds have a basic stock of catfish, carp and other species. When temperatures are warm, Russian and Siberian sturgeon are also stocked more frequently.
Anglers who would like to fish for themselves or according to their individual wishes can rent pond 2 on all days when it is open, as well as pond 3 on Saturdays.
The modern kiosk, newly built in 2016, provides guests with food, drinks and an attractive selection of bait. The light-flooded building and the accompanying sun terrace invite you to take a break and share your experiences on the water.
