The oxygen-rich water is home to many different types of fish. In addition to the classic low mountain range fish such as trout and chub, various species of white fish, carp, tench, pike, perch, pikeperch and eel also feel at home in the dam.

Particularly interesting areas are the rush with the oxygen-rich water from the reservoir, as well as the many areas where overhanging branches offer shade and protection for the fish. Since the lake is used as a flood retention basin, the lake will slowly be lowered by around 3.5m to its winter storage target from October. The minigolf course in Gemünd borders directly on the Eifel National Park and is not only very popular with children. From the center, from the national park gate or from the adjacent swimming pool, the mini golf course can be easily reached in a few minutes on foot and is therefore also highly recommended for a spontaneous game. The facility has 18 varied lanes, which are enhanced by lovingly designed obstacles. There are seats between the individual stations where you can wait for the next tee. After a stimulating game of mini golf, you can fortify yourself with cool drinks, coffee and ice cream at the kiosk on the complex.
